The Republican Vice President Ms Mutale NALUMANGO has disclosed the government has drawn plans to intensify livestock vaccination from various diseases across the country to lessen chances of outbreak of diseases amidst the drought situation that the country has been confronted with.
Speaking when delivering her speech in Parliament yesterday on Tuesday, Ms NALUMANGO said the government is aware that drought comes along with various diseases… among them is anthrax hence, plans to intensify vaccination of livestock across the country.
Ms NALUMANGO further warned against the habit of bush burning as it denies livestock food especially that the country has been hit by a drought that has limited the growth of vegetation which livestock feed on.
She has also assured that a number of water points will be drilled across the country to provide water both for human and animal watering which ultimately may also be used for irrigation.
