Monze Central Ward Councilor – Paul MUTENGUNA says the Local Authorities in conjuction with the Zambia National Service have started supplying the Eagle branded mealie meal to venders within Monze Central Business District.
MUTENGUNA adds that over 3,000 bags of mealie meal have been squarely distributed to the 2 ZNS depots plus to venders in the CBD including Manungu Areas.
Hon MUTENGUNA has also noted that the undertaking has been done in good faith to address the shortage of the brand on the market and will continue to be implemented until all the residents have a share.
Meanwhile, Ocean CHITUMBU from Monze’s – Njola Area has urged the Authorities to further supply the affordable mealie meal to the local sheds too.
“Transport is too expensive for people in the Rural Areas just to go and buy one bag of which sometimes you spend days without access to the mealie meal”, CHITUMBU advises.
However, Boston ‘Bboobo’ HAMPANDE from Munyenze in the same District has advised people to consider buying alternative brands to avoid spending a lot of time in queues.
ZNS eagle branded 25Kg bag of mealie meal is going at K190 Roller meal while breakfast is going at K230 on the market….. other brands range from K230 to K290 for a 25Kg Roller meal and K260 to K320 for breakfast meal respectively.
