NAMWALA COUNCIL RECEIVES NEW HEAVY DUTY EQUIPMENT
The Namwala Town Council is elated to announce the arrival of essential heavy-duty equipment procured under the Community Development Fund (CDF), marking a significant milestone in the District’s journey towards improved infrastructure and enhanced livelihoods.
SPECIAL DUTIES Media was invited to monitor the delivery of a Motor Grader and a 25-tonne tipper truck at the Civic Centre.
The UPND Administration’s amplified allocation of the CDF is actively reshaping lives and fostering District development across the nation. Namwala in particular, stands as a testament to these strides, gratefully witnessing the tangible outcomes of this support. Through this increased funding, our district has been empowered to procure essential equipment such as the Motor Grader and Tipper Truck, signalling a dedicated effort to address Namwala’s infrastructure needs and cultivate a thriving community.
Witnessing the arrival of these impactful assets were esteemed members of the Namwala community, including Namwala Central Ward Councillor – Young SHANDAVU, Namwala Town Council Secretary – Mr Phillimon Nyirenda, and Namwala Town Council Director of Engineering Services – Humphrey CHITI, alongside other dedicated representatives of the Namwala Town Council.
Council Secretary – Mr NYIRENDA emphasised that the roads in Namwala are in dire need of attention and stressed that the procurement of these heavy-duty equipments will significantly contribute to the District’s development. He reassured the residents of Namwala that the Council is fully committed to working tirelessly to enhance the condition of roads throughout the District.
Similarly, Eng. CHITI provided further reassurance, affirming that the procurement process for two additional pieces of equipment, namely; a compactor and a TLB (Tractor Loader Backhoe), is already in progress. This underscores the Local Authority’s unwavering commitment to ensuring that all roads in Namwala become passable. Additionally, he highlighted that the long-neglected township roads will also receive attention, marking a significant step towards comprehensive infrastructure improvement in the District.
Namwala Central Ward Councilor – SHANDAVU, echoed sentiments of fulfillment, stating that the arrival of these equipment serves as a testament to the commitment of civic leaders to fulfill promises made to the residents of Namwala regarding road improvements. He further emphasized that the dedication extends across all 16 Wards of Namwala, assuring residents that all roads within the District will be addressed and improved.
The Namwala District extends heartfelt appreciation to all stakeholders involved in the procurement and delivery of these assets, reaffirming our shared commitment to driving positive change and improving the quality of life for all residents. Indeed, CDF is changing lives, and we embrace the opportunities it brings for progress and prosperity in Namwala.
