Choma District Commissioner Gamela SIKALEYA has praised One Health – OH for continuing to realize the importance to sensitize the nation on the importance of prioritizing the health of both Animals along with Humankind.
DC – SIKALEYA tells SPECIAL DUTIES Media that his pleased to note that the majority of people in the District are well made aware of Anthrax disease.
The National Chair for One Health and Epidemiologist Namundi SIWALE NSHIMBI says that there’s literally NO safety in eating meat of an animal that died on its own.
“Meat from animals that have died from unknown causes have numerous pathogens that can be extremely harmful to Humankind”, she emphasized.
Realizing the detriment, she has encouraged her Technical team to continue sensitizing the public on the dangers of buying meat from the streets and unauthorised Butcheries in the marketplace.
